Our goal is to encourage music students and teachers in our area to participate in the musical life of the community. We provide a variety of performance and learning opportunities each year. These include recitals, a competition, and summer music scholarships.
The Southern Tier Music Teachers' Association was formed in 1995 as a tax-deductible, charitable organization. It was created by a community of private music teachers residing in the Binghamton area who wanted to provide organizational support, education, and performance opportunities for their music students.
Any music teacher (public school or private) is welcome to join our organization. Your dues fund our activities and scholarhips and give you the option to be involved as much or as little as you would like.
